The NCAA Wrestling Rules Committee on Friday upheld the final score of Nebraska’s match with Oklahoma State on Thursday night in Lincoln.

Oklahoma State was awarded a 19-18 victory over the Huskers, but after the dual ended Nebraska appealed the final outcome to the NCAA. Nebraska disputed the final score of the 184-pound match between Travis Pascoe and OSU’s Clay Kehrer. Pascoe won by an 11-4 decision, but match referee Cody Olson acknowledged Pascoe should have received an extra penalty point, which would have given him a 12-4 major decision victory, as opposed to the 11-4 decision victory that currently stands.

With the major decision victory, Nebraska would have received an extra team point and tied the match at 19. However, the NCAA ruled because the appeal was lodged after the dual instead of before the 197-pound match, the final score of both Pascoe’s match and the dual would stand as previously reported.

No. 6 Nebraska is next in action on Saturday, Feb. 12, against No. 8 Oklahoma in Norman, Okla.
