CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling team opened the Southern Conference season Saturday by defeating The Citadel at Maclellan Gym, 29-7.<\/p>\n
The Citadel, the defending SoCon Champion, registered only two victories at 157 pounds and HWT. <\/p>\n

Chattanooga’s Jon Sioredas, ranked No. 6 nationally at 165, improved his record to 18-1 by defeating Dan Thompson, 19-4. <\/p>\n
Travis Piccard, The Citadel’s highest ranked wrestler (No. 13) at 157 pounds, won his match over Lance Rogers, 12-4.<\/p>\n
The Mocs, 10-9, travel to Boone, NC to take on Appalachian State, Saturday, Feb 5 at 2 p.m. The Citadel, 1-5, hosts VMI on Thursday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
