Fargo, N.D. – The Northern Iowa wrestling team snapped North Dakota State’s 20-dual win streak with a 31-12 win Thursday night.<\/p>\n
The Panthers (6-7) have won five straight against the Bison.<\/p>\n
Northern Iowa took seven matches, pinning three Bison.<\/p>\n
Freshman Adam Baumgartner started the meet off at 125 pounds with his first collegiate dual victory, a pin of Mike Meger in 2 minutes, 51 seconds. Ryan Osgood led the entire match at 133, defeating Nick Magee, 6-4.<\/p>\n
Freshman C.J. Ettelson gave the Panthers a 15-0 lead after he pinned senior 141-pounder Lucas Christianson in 1:40. Senior Jeff Harrison continued the dominance, scoring in every period for an 8-1 win over Zach Stevens at 149.<\/p>\n
Junior Mark Manchio wrestled for the first time competitively since Dec. 5, stepping up two weight classes to 157. He was pinned by Andy Pickar in 2:30.<\/p>\n
Manchio was filling in for Nick Baima, who broke his hand in practice Wednesday. Baima is scheduled to return for the West Regional on March 5.<\/p>\n
Junior Chris Bitetto tallied three takedowns and riding time in his 9-4 victory over Collin Kelly.<\/p>\n
