The Illini won all 10 matches in the blanking to improve to 14-1-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the Big Ten. Senior Mark Jayne inched closer to the 100 career win mark with his win today to bring his total victories to 99.<\/p>\n<p> The dual began with a forfeit at 125 pounds to give Illinois an instant 6-0 lead. Jayne (Sr., Elyria, Ohio) scored at will with five takedowns in the match to win by major decision, 13-3 over Brian Dyer at 133. Cassio Pero (So., Chicago Heights, Ill.) racked up over two minutes of riding time and got a takedown in all three periods to win 8-2 over Cameron Sakon. The Illini led 13-0. <\/p>\n<p>The match picked up the intensity at 149 pounds as senior Anton Dietzen (Elmhurst, Ill.) got Ryan Pribble to his back early in the second period for the pin in 3:26. Dietzen led the match 9-2 before getting the fall. Alex Tirapelle (Jr., Clovis, Calif.) took on his second ranked opponent of the weekend earning a 4-3 decision over N. 19 Brandon Becker. Becker scored a takedown on Tirapelle in the second, but a reversal just nine seconds after put him back on top. An Indiana escape in the third tied the match, but Tirapelle&#8217;s 1:33 of riding time made the difference in the match at 157. Similarly at 165, Marc Bennett scored the first takedown, but 11th-ranked Donny Reynolds (So., Frankfort, Ill.) countered with a reversal in the first. He added a takedown and then another reversal for the 8-5 decision. Illinois then took a 25-0 lead.<\/p>\n<p> At 174, Pete Friedl (Jr., Orland Park, Ill.) allowed only an escape and got three takedowns in a 7-1 decision over Brady Richardson. The Illini won the final three matches by a one-point margin. Brian Glynn (Sr., Orland Park, Ill.) led 1-0 going into the third period, scoring the match&#8217;s first offensive points with 41 seconds remaining in the bout against 20th-ranked Andy Rios. Each wrestler got stalling points and escapes for the 4-3 final at 184. Junior Tyrone Byrd (Clinton, Ill.) needed riding time to secure his 3-2 victory over Josh Buuck. In the second period, Buuck reversed Byrd from the down position, but Byrd was able to tie the score with a pair of escapes and accumulated 1:29 riding time at 197. The heavyweight match was a physical one as  Mike Behnke (So., Villa Park, Ill.) got on the board with a takedown in the first period and held off an aggressive Dave Herman&#8217;s attempts in the final minute for the 3-2 win.<\/p>\n<p> The Illini have a short break with a their final home match scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20 against 17th -ranked Northwestern at 7 p.m. Illinois will be honoring five seniors, including starters Mark Jayne (133), Anton Dietzen (149) and Brian Glynn (184).<br \/>125: #2 Kyle  Ott (ILL) won by forfeit (6-0)<br \/>133: #4 Mark  Jayne (ILL) Major dec.
