Stouffer gets his revenge<\/p>\n

Senior heavyweight Bill Stouffer didn’t take long to get revenge on Pennsylvania’s Matt Feast.<\/p>\n

After Feast soundly beat Stouffer 12-5 at Midlands Dec. 29, Stouffer used a takedown in overtime to beat Feast 6-4 in the rematch Friday at Rose Arena.<\/p>\n

The No. 14 Chippewas won the dual match 34-3 against No. 23 Pennsylvania to improve to 3-1.<\/p>\n

“I knew I was just as good as him,”\u009d Stouffer said. “I just wrestled a horrible match at Midlands.”\u009d<\/p>\n

Freshman Eric Neil, 157 pounds, set the tone for the meet in the first match. He used 10 takedowns and a three point near-fall in a 24-9 win to get a five point technical fall for Central.<\/p>\n

“I was really happy with Eric,”\u009d said coach Tom Borrelli. “He really went out there and got right after him.”\u009d<\/p>\n

Senior David Bolyard rebounded at 165 pounds after losing three of his last four matches to beat Richard Ferguson in a 19-6 major decision.<\/p>\n

CMU senior Mitch Hancock won an 8-7 decision at 174 pounds, giving CMU an 18-0.<\/p>\n

Senior Alex Lammers, ranked No. 20 by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, pinned Jack Kitchen of Penn just a little more than four minutes into the match.<\/p>\n

Borrelli said he liked the team’s enthusiasm during the meet.<\/p>\n

“I was happy with our fight in every match and our aggressiveness in every match,”\u009d Borrelli said.<\/p>\n

Freshman Wynn Michalak won his third consecutive dual match with a 9-6 decision against No. 16 Marcus Schontube.<\/p>\n

Central’s Luke Smith, 125 pounds, used an escape with eight seconds left in double overtime to beat Mason Lenhard in the most entertaining match of the meet.<\/p>\n

As the CMU faithful rose in appreciation, Smith pumped his fist in jubilation.<\/p>\n

“I was just looking at him knowing that he did not work harder than me,”\u009d Smith said. “I knew I wanted it more than he did.”\u009d<\/p>\n

The Chippewas lone loss came at the 141-pound weight class.<\/p>\n

Penn’s No. 14 ranked Doug McGraw used a late two-point near fall to beat freshman Brandon Carter 4-2.<\/p>\n

Junior Jason Borrelli continued his winning ways at 133 pounds with a 5-3 decision, while junior Mark DiSalvo posted a 10-1 major decision.<\/p>\n

Borrelli was pleased the way his team bounced back after a disappointing meet against Michigan, where the Chippewas were both tired and banged up after the Midlands.<\/p>\n

“In the Michigan match we were a little tentative,”\u009d Borrelli said. “I think our guys wanted to redeem themselves after the loss.”\u009d<\/p>\n

Stouffer said he also was happy how the team came back from Michigan.<\/p>\n

“I knew we were better than what we wrestled at Michigan,”\u009d Stouffer said. “I felt like we kind of got our sweet revenge.”\u009d<\/p>\n

The Chippewas compete next at the Wendy’s Classic in Ashland, Ohio Jan. 16.<\/p>\n
