Denver, CO “September 8, 2005 “Rulon Gardner, Olympic Gold and Bronze medalist in Greco-Roman wrestling, auctioned the actual Asics shoes he left on the mat in the Athens Olympic Games last week on eBay. <\/p>\n

The shoes ultimately sold for $2575.40, and were purchased by wrestling fan Frazier Keck of Chapel Hill, NC. Fifty percent of the auction proceeds, $1287.70, will benefit future Olympic heavyweight wrestlers through USA Wrestling.<\/p>\n

This week Rulon began an auction for the actual snowmobile he was on in his near fatal accident in the Wyoming wilderness. The snowmobile, which has been refurbished, was listed on eBay, beginning September 6, 2005.. The auction will end September 12, 2005. Rulon will personalize the snowmobile for the auction winner, personally deliver it and take the winner for a snowmobile ride. <\/p>\n

Fifty percent of the auction proceeds will benefit Native American youth through scholarships provided by American Indian Services. In addition, Rulon’s shoe sponsor, Asics, will donate shoes and Rulon’s publisher, Avalon Publishing Group, will donate his new book “Never Stop Pushing”\u009d to AIS for the annual Christmas Wrap, which provides Christmas gifts to children in various Native American communities. <\/p>\n

Rulon tells his life story in his first book, “Never Stop Pushing,”\u009d which was released September 6, 2005 by Avalon Publishing Group and was co-written with Bob Schaller. <\/p>\n

For each book purchased through the end of September 2005 via www.rulongardner.com, Rulon will donate $5 toward hurricane relief. Rulon will also sign all copies purchased through his website.<\/p>\n
