Michigan State ends Gophers wrestling streak

Michigan State won seven of 10 matches and overwhelmed the No. 5 Gophers 28-14 in a Big Ten wrestling match Friday night at the Sports Pavilion.<\/p>\n
The Spartans, ranked No. 15, ended an 11-match losing streak against the Gophers.<\/p>\n
Minnesota wrestlers managed only three victories Friday night. Matt Nagel pinned MSU’s Bryan Harney at the 1:31 mark of the 165-pound match, Mack Reiter won a 12-1 major decision over Ryan Froese at 133, and Cole Konrad, ranked No. 2 in the nation, won a 14-2 major decision over Max Lossen at heavyweight.<\/p>\n
Minnesota wrestled without two starters at 174 and 184 pounds and lost both matches by fall.<\/p>\n
At 174, Michigan State’s R.J. Boudro pinned Jeremy Larson, who wrestled because of injuries to Gabriel Dretsch and Josh McLay.
